About Me

See some stuff for myself!

Currently interning in Santiago, Chile, ¡y es la raja, weon!

I am free spirited, impulsive, eager to be happy. I am quick to laugh, and unjudgmental. I equally adore big, fast, shiny, flashy (cities) and calm, introspective, savage, harmonious (nature). I find joy in the smallest of things and am happiest when the moment is simplest.

My current project is breaking away from SHOULD, doing things because I feel like I'm supposed to, without following, listening, trusting my heart and passion. I have no idea what I want out of life--but I am on the path to figuring myself out.

keep your nose out the sky, keep your heart to god and keep your face to the rising sun

also--leave it better than you found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am brand new to the CS game, but I am excited to become a part of the community. Travelling solo has taught me the impact of small kindnesses, and I look forward to being able to host fellow travellers when I get back to Atlanta.

None, as of yet!

Music, Movies, and Books

2 books have changed my life: ishmael, by daniel quinn, and said the shotgun to the head, by saul williams. i like books that make me think, that cause me to question what i've taken for granted.

music--i don't listen to a wide variety, but what i listen to i love. music, for me, ties me to home, to the people and places i'm connected to.

i grew up listening to pearl jam, U2, and neil young (thanks, mom). all time favorites are ani difranco, kanye west, modest mouse, kings of leon, gomez, white stripes. i like passion pit, cold war kids, sleigh bells, bob dylan, classic rock--zeppelin, the stones, CCR. party music is a guilty pleasure: whatever's playing in the clubs, you can probably get me to dance to

movies--#1 all time favorite: almost famous.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the things i'm proudest of are hiking the W trek in Torres del Paine and delivering a eulogy at my sister's funeral.

other cool glimpses: Born on a lunar eclipse.Surfed in Waikiki, Hawaii and Montecillo, Chile. Ziplined in Hawaii, too.

When I was 14 I spent a few days with a campesino family in Honduras. Unbelievable generosity from people who have so little, at least materially. That trip had a major impact on my world view...

Lived in Granada, Spain for a summer, where I used to watch the sunset over the Alhambra.

I've been to 46 out of 50 states--the last 4 coming up next summer!

Teach, Learn, Share

what can i offer? i can't think of much, besides a friendly face and good conversation. hopefully that will be enough for now.

i want to learn...about YOU! tell me your story, your passions, your fears, your lame jokes. i'm sure we'll have a great time
