About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have a good time!

ABOUT ME

I'm an extrovert and people generally like me. Unless they like introverts, I suppose. My friends all think I'm the funniest guy they know and they're probably correct. I'm a 5th-generation Oregonian but I'm not opposed to moving away from the Portland area, eventually. While it's truly beautiful here, I do grow weary of the dreary weather in western Oregon. I like to meet new people and I absolutely love to travel. I'm a divorced father of a 10 year-old daughter and I love her like nothing else.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy each day as if it were your last! Be kind in all my dealings as I believe in karma.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined recently and I hope to host and surf soon. I'm not looking for a free room but, to be honest, I'm a frugal traveler! I love to meet new people, especially those with a love of travel. Why not save money AND meet people as they(or I) travel? I'm particularly interested in surfing and hosting with people that want to share the experience together, whenever possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I've never technically CouchSurfed yet, I was born to do it. While in Paris in '94, I started drinking with a group of locals. I couldn't speak French and they spoke very little English. They took me under their French wings and I ended up at a house party and slept on a couch.

Interests

My daughter, hiking, biking, fishing, photography, web surfing, Oregon Ducks football, Portland Trailblazer basketball and traveling, to name a few.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've watched over 1,700 movies and I'm a tough critic. I enjoy thrillers, romantic comedies and good documentaries. I like classic rock and I prefer non-fiction books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Relating to travel, my most memorable places I've been to are the American cemeteries at Normandy, France and "Ground Zero" in Manhattan on the first anniversary of 9/11.
