"By appreciation, we make excellence in others our own property." - Voltaire
I'm a hopelessly broke, but very hospitable American student. For now, though, I'm living in the Netherlands, where my school owns a castle in which students study abroad. I'm a film student, but I also work as an actor, writer, musician, and slam poet. I love to travel and meet new people, and I want to see what the world is like beyond my doorstep.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had friends sleep on my couches for years, and I'm hoping to return the favor as soon as possible. I'm new to the project, but I think it's great!
My house back in Chicago is a legendary crash pad: I would always have a friend over, sleeping on my couch. Whenever I need to visit someplace, I usually have friends return the favor, but I'm still young and haven't done much travelling.
I love making and listening to music of many genres; I've played in folk, punk, metal, and pop-rock bands. I'm fascinated with movies and poetry, and I'm always looking for anyone who can expand perceptions through any art form.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything and everything, especially if it makes me laugh.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Amsterdam, I saw the world's worst street performer gather an audience, do a few magic tricks, and spend an hour making fun of them in English until they all got uncomfortable and left. The German tourists were confused, but I and the two other Americans in the audience thought it was hilarious. I've seen plenty in my time, but I've never seen anyone do so much to make people hate him.
