I'm Poppy, a university student who's just finished first year and wants to celebrate by travelling through Europe! I love to travel, mostly to explore different cultures - especially food. I'm a little quiet but very friendly and I always love to meet new people. I absolutely adore animals - so the more pets you have, the better!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'm new to Couchsurfing, but hope it will be an amazing opportunity to meet some wonderful new friends and explore different countries. I'm hoping to travel less like a tourist than I have previously, and experience Europe on my student budget!

I'm interested in staying with people who are happy to share their knowledge of the places they live and maybe help me to explore the area, from museums to nights out to the best restaurants.

Centres d'intérêt

I love to read, primarily, and am always open to book suggestions and book swaps - I think they're a wonderful way to find new things I may not have read before, and to share something meaningful with another person.

I'm really into cooking - I'm not particularly fussy and always up to try something new. My favourite things to cook (and eat!) are probably something Italian or Mexican, but I think one of the best things about travelling is finding new ingredients/dishes to try.

I'm also currently learning British Sign Language, which has been amazing so far! I've just taken my third Level One exam in it, and waiting on the results any day now!

I really enjoy just being outside and wandering, whether it's along a river, through countryside or through city streets. I'm always interested in museums and parks, and would happily welcome any suggestions for amazing places to visit!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music: At the moment I'm listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac, Frank Turner, The Smiths, The Cure, Queen, etc. I also really enjoy jazz and an odd assortment of Disney songs.

Movies: I'm a huge Disney fan! My favourites are probably Mulan, Tangled, The Emperor's New Groove, Beauty and The Beast... I also love scary movies/horror/thrillers: some of my favourites are The Shining, The Sixth Sense and The Green Mile.

Books: My favourite book is probably To Kill A Mockingbird. I also love A Clockwork Orange, 1984, nearly everything I've read by Stephen King(!), Harry Potter and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Probably the most amazing thing I can think of was sitting under the Washington Monument in D.C. in a lightning storm at night - we sat there for over an hour in the warm rain, watching lightning moving across the sky - it was quite a surreal and incredible experience.

Share: I hope I can share friendly, interesting conversation, suggestions for books that I hold very dear to me and a wonderful time meeting someone new! (I'm also happy to share in cooking, cleaning and washing up!).
