About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mission seems impossible.

ABOUT ME

I have always been a dreamer but am easily distracted when it comes to pragmatics. Would wander far distances as a child. Need to continue that on a large scale. Living in NYC for almost four years. Rarely go above Union Square unless it's to Central Park. I'm more of a Grenwich Village and Brooklyn person. New York is a fabulous gateway to the world. I can fly practically anywhere from JFK. Now all I need is more time and money. :) An easy going Western boy from Utah's Rocky Mountains, I love to be outside. Snowboarding, skiing, wake-boarding, hiking, biking, beach, drinking a six pack by the campfire, I'll do it all. Not that I'm the best, it's just good times.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to experience life outside of my personal paradigms.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into music and a lot of different kinds. It depends on my mood. I know if I really love it, if the sounds carry me to a response such as dancing or being moved emotionally. I can feel Dave Grohl's thundering voice on a Foo Fighter track and want to scream with him. Or I could shake all night long to some Brazilian favela beats. Love percussion and horn sections. Into a lot of reggae. A lot of good soulful, latin influenced house music... Not a big movie guy and I tend to read more articles than books. Short attention span. Books I love are adventure books like Into Thin Air, Annapurna etc. Recently finished the Count of Monte Cristo and thought it was fabulous.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw people dancing in the streets of New York City at 3 AM like New Years Eve. Just because The United States of America elected their first multi-racial president, only decades after segregation was enforced by state governments. Didn't think I'd see that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Interested in the new green building technologies and materials. I'm currently working on a LEED silver certified, low income housing project which combines building, environmental concerns and social justice issues. Quite interesting. I am a carpenter by trade. Crown moldings, shelves, framing houses. I've done it. Writing is an avenue I'd like to commit myself to developing. I've taken a few classes but am lazy. I studied journalism in school and still daydream about doing documentary type stories. Something more in depth than a 90 second blurb. I can ski or ride black diamonds. Most people can only do one or the other.
