ABOUT ME

My family is a freak show, without the tent. I grew up in a chaotic household, where there were always siblings, cousins, friends, uncles and aunts around. My partying like a rockstar days began at the age of 12 and lasted until I was 28. I do not partake in the booze/drugs thing anymore...not one bit. I am a journalist, writer & burlesque performer in the NYC circuit. Currently, I am trying to teach myself how to become a magician.

PHILOSOPHY

I do not regret the past, nor will I shut the door on it but I refuse to live in it. I know that there is a lot I do not know; however I am sure that I am not here to be miserable.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am trying to get involved with the CS project. I host my friends whenever they need a place to crash. Although we are adults we say we are having "sleepovers."

Interessen

My interests are many & varied, among them: burlesque, reading, writing, NYC, coffee talk with friends, drag performances, photography, gender & class issues, creating things, recently got into rollerblading, my mini pinscher, old films and yup you guessed- travel.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Currently, I am on a biography kick of the likes of Che Guevara & Simon Bolivar. I just finished The General in His Labyrinth by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Love classic films: Some Like it Hot, Bringing Up Baby; film noir & foreign films.
I've listen to all types of music & was a DJ for college radio. Since I returned from Honduras I've been listening to Cumbia. Though I am fairly open to all music, books and films.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

In Guatemala I participated in a Mayan ceremony. The Mayan women performed a ritual to ask the earth permission plant in her ground.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Practical sharing- I enjoy cooking with my friends. It would be great to cook up a vegan or vegetarian storm with somebody.
As I travel and learn more about culture I realize I want to learn even more. Only so much can be learned from books, I really want to learn first hand, by conversing with others about their culture, life and experiences.

I really want to learn how to do magic (tricks).
