About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be happy.

ABOUT ME

where do i begin? i've been blessed with the opportunities to travel to many foreign countries and meet a wonderful variety of people across the globe. because of my travels, in part, i try to view things from other people's perspectives - particularly the perspective where, in the end, we are all the same. we crave to have a roof over ourselves, food in our stomach, and someone there who cares for us. so because of that, very few things will stress me out, and i tend to view many problems or conflicts in life as small ones, and ones that will eventually work themselves out. i am a laid back person because the alternative to me is horrible.

i enjoy music - both performance & listening. i have played cello for the past 15 years or so. i will listen to & enjoy any type of music, although my preferences reside in electronic, hip hop, blues & jazz. going to concerts with friends, when we have the money, are a source of some of my favorite memories. being introduced to new music forms & groups is also a constant pleasure i have in my life.

there are other things - but those i suppose are the easiest to convey over the internet. simplicity is key. when things are simple, it's easier to be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've always been enamored with travelers. i find that, in general terms, it takes a certain type of unique individual to be willing to throw a bag on their back, head to a foreign country where they know neither the language nor where they are going to sleep, and engage in that adventure for fun.

i first heard of the couch surfing project during my last travels in germany. i thought it was an amazing idea - i've had friends of friends stay at my apartments before - and i was really excited to discover that there was a more global practice occurring which mirrored what i had been doing locally.

it is a great thing to meet people, and an even greater thing to meet people outside of one's own culture and hometown - and then play host to that person by showing them what makes my own hometown special, unique, and so much fun.
