To live and love life. To travel and love the world.
I am a native New Yorker. I did VERY little traveling before the age of 18, having only visited family in Florida a couple times when I was very young. The first place I went was Rome and the culture shock I experienced completely changed my life. I have now been to Italy, England, Canada, Bahamas, and a bunch of places around the USA. Traveling around the U.S. on multiple road trips, I have been just as amazed by the cultural experience. I went to 5 colleges for my B.S. so that I could diversify my college education as much as possible without hindering my ability to graduate in a reasonable amount of time. I also changed majors a few times and took a bunch more credits than I had to each semester to take full advantage of the money that college costs. I couch surfed for a couple months on my way to an exchange in Arizona during college and it was one of the better experiences of my life. I was a huge thrill seeker in my early twenties and lived a very hectic life, but have recently wound down quite a bit (need some resting/reflecting time). I love the beach, the mountains, and the woods. Hiking, skiing, swimming, and cycling are my favorite outdoor activities.
I love all people and animals. I am a huge fan of observing different people in different places. It amazes me when I travel and see the different mindsets of people around the world and I have yet to meet a person I dislike. I am a very caring person and I have a bit of a habit of carving a little niche in my heart for every person I meet. There's so much to learn about this world and I wish I could learn it all! I could live with nothing but a passport and be completely happy. Everywhere I go, the beauty of the Earth takes my breath away. I get very emotional when I observe the world around me. The intensity of what the world has to offer, whether it be the insanity of society or the diversity of nature, is way too easy to take for granted.
I also feel that I have a lot to offer this world and I am 100% willing to share my life and my experiences with people. I love telling stories of my life and I love hearing the same from others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed a bit and been to a meeting or two, and may host a bit in the future.
I scoped out the site and tried to get to know some people in my area, and met one in person but just for some drinks at a social gathering in town. I then took a road trip from New York to Arizona and couch surfed a bunch of places in between. My first host was in Chicago and he was awesome! He took me to a meeting and introduced me to a bunch of wonderful people from the CS community! After the first experience I had warmed up the rest of the way to the whole idea. So far, I am very impressed.
Hiking, swimming, skiing, beaches, amusement parks (ROLLER COASTERS), etc... I love formal education because learning is wonderful! I also love a good conversation with just about anyone. Too many to list.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like just about every type of movie and music. When it comes to the concert scene, I'm very into metal. I don't read much unless it's for school, unfortunately :(
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living life is continuously amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I need to think about this one... Hmm I can teach how to blow smoke rings if you like hookah... I was a math tutor for a while and I absolutely love helping people with math! Especially calculus! So I can teach that... I am very philosophical in discussion so I can teach, learn, and share with that! There's a lot for everyone to teach and a lot for everyone to learn as well, so this question is too much for me to take in!
