ABOUT ME

I am a maker. I make interactive art through hand puppets, paintings, and body puppets. This art illustrates feelings and needs. Comfortable and uncomfortable helping to open up the realm of communication. I make puppets with tear drops as well as smiles. Much of the material that I use are recycled goods. I find great joy in making something old come to life in a new way. I work from home making tools for therapist, teachers, and parents. I sell my products through traveling to play and art therapy conferences throughout the United States. http://openheartcreatures.com
I am also a performer. I wear what I make to festivals, birthday parities, live music celebrations and parades.
Much of this work is improv play engaging children and adults through dance and playful movement.
I run a community art studio called OpenheartART. This is a safe place for people of all ages to express themselves freely erasing the illusion that there is a right way to make art. I believe that everyone is an artist. Our main mission is to listen to the ideas of the people and help bring them to life.

I believe in live interaction between living people. I see the CS project doing just this. Opening up their homes and selves to the community of the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new -ish (took a break for 4 yrs) to CouchSurfing. I have a friend who travels this way. She has shared with me many beautiful stories of how amazing this program is.
