About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get off the sofa and do some work

ABOUT ME

Phew, where to start? I like to think I'm a pretty adventurous soul at heart - I'm interested in ideas and so when something piques my interest I'll do my level best to persue it further. I'm sociable but I'm just as home with a cosy chat over a cup of tea as I am in a crowded club.

PHILOSOPHY

Question everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm a noob so who knows! I'd like to host but I'd quite like to surf first so I can get a feel for what makes a good host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nowt - all I know is what I've heard (which is all good).

Interests

Everything and anything:
Modern architecture, design, photography, music, comedy, travel, history...the list is endless and the categories deliberately broad. I guess I'd never rule myself out from being interested in in anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Zero 7, Tricky, Teenage Fanclub, Saint Etienne, Morrissey, Pulp, Plain, The Notwist, The Pipettes, Peaches, Bjork, Louis Austen, MIA, Belle & Sebastian, Ladytron, Lemon Jelly, Hot Chip, Fujiya&Miyagi, Trentemoller, Felix da Housecat,Sally Shapiro, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Chemical Brothers, Corvin Dalek, The Chalets, Camera Obscura, CSS, Broadcast,
Movies: Music is my main love but I enjoy films - highlights from the last year include There Will Be Blood, The Lives of Others and Waltz With Bashir.
Books: I read everything I can get my hands on, specialising in contemporary US fiction - Dave Eggars, Jonathan Franzen, Jonathan Safran Foer etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving back from Morrocco through Spain in the mountains at dusk the September sunshine hit the pine trees in a way that took my breath away. That was ten years ago and I've done some amazing things since but that moment stays with me always.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach BritPop in any school that offered it as a subject! In realisty my skills are more esoteric - I'm a talker and a listener and I like to think there's value in both.

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, France, Germany, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom
