I am currently taking a gap year travelling around Europe. I volunteered in different places in France in exchange for food and board while I learned the language, had a whirlwind taste of Paris, found myself solo in Florence, fell in love in England, and am in Germany at the moment, travelling with my fiancee. I love meeting new people and listening to their stories. I recnetly wrote an article about an extraordinary hitchhiker that I met a few weeks ago. You can read about it on my travelling blog: travelscribbling.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a budget traveler and story seeker. I don't have much, but love to travel all the same, even if it means being very thrifty. But that's part of the adventure isn't it? Plus, I always happen to meet the most interesting people when steering clear of typical holiday making.
- exploring nature
- musical theatre
- drinking coffee
Music, Movies, and Books
I love folk music. James Bay, London Grammer, Sting and The Police, Bastille, Dire Straits, Sia, Coldplay, Tracy Chapman.
Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, Braveheart, Spirit, The Fall, Moulin Rouge, Get Smart, The Waitress.
I'm an English Literature major, so I love many of the classics, the Harry Potter series of course, A soldier of the Great War, The Sherwood Ring, Life of Pi, Twenty-One balloons.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen a panther in the wild when out riding my horses in India with my sister. It followed us as we rode away!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook pretty darn well. If you love Indian food, I'd be happy to share recipes! I'm up for learning anything, I'm incurably curious. I can give you advice on cost effective ways to travel.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to share experiences! I can tell you all about India especially, since I grew up there, but would also be thrilled to talk about other places I've been. I love listening too, and might try to jot down some of your stories and turn them into a blog (:
