If I don't find something that's pleasant, at least I'll find something new...

ABOUT ME

My husband and I are vagabonds at heart, although our four to five year stint at Queen's has put a bit of an anchor down for awhile for us...

We recently moved to Kingston from Maui, Hawaii and are really digging the town.

We enjoy traveling and between the two of us have spent a good 8 years straight living outside of Canada. Jeffrey's worked in Bermuda (mechanic), I've worked in Mexico (mining), and our lifestyle has provided us with ample time to check out places like Ireland, Belize, Dominican, Croatia, Hungary, England and the USA- just to name a few.

We love adventure- whether it be a jog out to rock Dunder outside of Kingston, or a backpacking trip down to Maine, we're up for just about anything.

Call us for coffee or (maybe) a couch, depending on when- if anything, we're totally down with touring around, adventuring and meeting new people!

I've never really gotten big into Couch Surfing, but now that I actually have a fixed address, it will be easier! Feel free to contact me for coffee, or at least directions!

Intereses

Acoustic Guitar- I can only play "kitchen tunes," but get someone on the spoons, a harmonica and a noodle shaker, and we make some mean music!

Surfing- My husband and I just got back from a surfing trip to Maine this October ('12). We're die-hard, Atlantic ocean in the fall surfers and will do just about anything for a good ride. There is nothing better than riding that first wave in the morning...

Hiking/Camping- I love the outdoors. Whether it's old growth forest or desert, I'm at home without a solid roof over my head.

My husband and I knew that there was going to be a meteor shower that was going to have an awesome presence above Maui- so we took the drive up to the top of Haleakala (a volcano) with a bottle of wine, our winter clothes (or what we had that might provide warmth) and some blankets. We nestled up in the rocks on the top of the mountain and waited... and waited... and drank some wine... and waited... and then it got cold... really cold... and the wine ran out. And we tried to snooze- and then we gave up. We didn't see a single shooting star that night, but we had a really great time on the mission to get there, and an even better time laughing about it later...

Its amazing what a little bit of sincerity and honest effort will do when you try to speak a foreign language to a local. You suddenly go from the tourist, to the friend. Make an effort to dive right into the culture that we try so hard to envelop ouselves in!
