Im coming to New Zealand on a 1 year Working Holiday Visa. I am a Registered Nurse in Canada specialized in Cardiac Medicine. I have backpacked through a number of countries over the years but have never been able to stay in one place for an extended period of time or really get to know the country as a resident. I have done the paperwork required to nurse here as well, but I am open to any seasonal work or WWOOFing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I did couch surf a few times through my Europe trip in 2013. It was my first time trying CS out and easily one of the best travel decisions I have ever made. Every single host I stayed with went above and beyond to show me their cities and to give me a true, authentic experience. I couldn't wait to try CS again and can't wait to start hosting once I'm home in Canada.
I live in a part of Canada known as the Rocky Mountains. As a result I have grown up with a very outdoor adventure focus. I love being outside, have a great respect for nature and enjoy anything physically demanding. In particular - hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, yoga.
I have always been very drawn towards New Zealand because of the diverse, stunning landscapes. I have brought my one man tent and all my hiking (tramping) gear along with me. My goal is to do as many of the Great Walks, and single day trails as I can. Any company on these adventures would be FANTASTIC :)
