About Me

To test my limits, wander the world, and find all the hidden little treasures that life has to offer.

Okay I am going to start with the fact that I have always been horrible at these "all about you" sort of things. So I apologize beforehand. I am double majoring in Archeology and International Studies with a minor in History. I love to cook and bake, especially from scratch. I try to draw its usually a hit or miss. Same with humor. I tend to be sarcastic and gullible which is irony in and of itself. I love museums and my favorite past time when traveling is to find the people who know the history, the stories, the folklore. I like experiencing the culture of different places I go to, even if its the next state over. I love dogs, but I'm highly allergic to cats. And that's basically all folks.

"60 seconds of crazy can lead to a lifetime of happiness" -my mom taught me that one.
You don't know what your looking for until you start looking. Everything, everyone and everyplace has something to offer, its up to you to take the chance. I try every day to LIVE, not just exist. I like exploring towns, villages, cities, countries without a true destination because wherever I end up, is where I should be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have not yet experienced Couch Surfing yet. I learned of this site from this wonderful Canadian lady I met in line to see the Book of Kells in Dublin whilst visiting the British Isles with an archeology group. I plan to participate in any way I can.

The outdoors, hiking and camping. I also Scuba Dive. Museums, food, and culture. I also like to dance, read, write, music.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Outsiders is hands down the best book and movie. Stay Golden Johnny.
Movies: Practical Magic, Alice in Wonderland, the Breakfast Club, 9:10 to Yuma, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, A Place in the Sun, The Godfather, Casablanca basically any classic movie, Disney movie, comedy or romance I tend to watch. No horror I tend to be a wuss.

Music: Loreena McKennitt and any Celtic music really, Flogging Molly, Paramore, Billy Joel, Corinne Bailey Rae, Frank Zappa, Dean Martin, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Jack Johnson. Ill listen to anything at least once.

Books: Any Anne Rice, Patricia Briggs, Beatrice Small, Nora Roberts and Stephen King(even though I usually cant sleep for a week) books. I read a lot of history books, archeology journals, and any myth fairytale collection I can get my hands on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crawling through the Neolithic Tombs of the British Isles.

Teach, Learn, Share

When I went to Ireland for the first time with my mom, grandmother and aunt just after graduating high school we went to this bar in Enis. Well there was a Irish band playing and one of the players started to dance and motioned me to dance with him. I motioned my head no and started gulping my beer as the other bar occupants tried to coerce me to join. My mom then told me this bit of wisdom that I still lived by today as it changed me "60 seconds of crazy can be a lifetime of happiness." With a last gulp I went and danced with that Irishman and I did a pretty damn good job of it. It was the most fun experience of the whole trip, since then I try to escape my comfort zone and enjoy everything.
