I was born in Kosice, Slovakia and love going back there to visit family and friends. I currently call Pasadena, California home, but I mostly grew up in the suburbs north of Boston. I am studying astrophysics and trying to see as much of the world as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a people-person and I love interacting with people from around the world with knowledge and experiences that differ from mine.

I've a couchsurfing newbie, but I've heard many amazing stories from friends who have hosted, surfed, and hung out!

Interests

I love astronomy, astrophotography, falling asleep under the Milky Way, and anything that has to do with observing the Universe around us. A lot of my spare time is taken up by playing and practicing Ultimate Frisbee; I have so many incredible memories from tournaments around the US and Europe. When I manage to find the time, I am always up for a hiking/backpacking/adventuring trip. Within the last year, I have started rock climbing and bouldering and am looking forward to many more adventures on the rocks. I'm also a big fan of puzzles and brainteasers (especially handheld wooden puzzles!). I am most definitely NOT a writer or singer.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is Labyrinth (the 1980's one with David Bowie). I don't listen to music all that often, but my car radio is tuned to country. Most recently I have been reading various books about the history of math and science.

I've had too many amazing experiences to choose just one.

Watching the Aurora Borealis dance overhead in Norway. Hiking on a glacier in Iceland. Representing Slovakia at the European Ultimate Championships.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH
I love teaching others about astronomy and astrophotography. I have done research on black hole systems, which I think are quite intriguing. I'm happy to teach you about anything I know about.

LEARN
I love learning new languages! I only remember a few odd Danish phrases (I studied it for 5 months), but I love the sound of the language. My German is mostly conversational and my Spanish should be a lot better than it is.

I also love learning about different cultures, learning new games and hearing about people's travel experiences.
