About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I used to travel a lot, and if I knew then about this site I would have couchsurfed everywhere! Now that I know about it, I would be glad to welcome people from every place on earth.

ABOUT ME

Well I'm Rafaela, 20 years old. I'm Brazilian but I lived half of my life in France, just came back to Brazil in January 2009 after finishing school. In France I used to travel a lot. Now that I'm here in Brazil, I mostly travel around the country.

When I was in France, I brought a lot of my friends here on vacation with me, I would be happy to show you people around, I live in a beatiful little paradise. All the friends I brought here was suposed to stay a month, and all of them ended up staying 2 months with me, the whole summer.

Some people say Brazil is dangerous, but don't let that scare you. Every city in the world has dangerous places and as long as you don't go there it's okay.

PHILOSOPHY

Knowledge is power! I truly believe in this one, today most of the people who have hate in them, it's because of their lack of knowledge, their lack of understanding. To understand you have to know about it.

There another philosophy that I really admire, but, and I am ashamed to say it, I'm to lazy to follow, is "Be the change you want to see in life" Ghandi said that

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well people, right now I'm in school, so it's hard for me to welcome anybody. But I usually have free afternoons and weekends, so I'm only available to show the city around (own a vehicle)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well at school I've done a lot of "training periods", and when the school would ask us where I wanted to go I would always say as far away as possible. So I ended up at every place possible, from my boss guestroom to a house of workers, it was like a hostel, there would be people from all around the world, everytime it was a great experience.

Interests

I like pretty much everything, I'm always open for new adventures, as long as there's no spiders I'm game!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Almost every kind. I hate sad romance and horror movies.

Music: Everything except rap, r'n'b, weird foreign stuff... I'm kind of picky with my music I like to discover new artists that nobody knows about. Most people have no idea from who are the artists on my MP3.

Books: I love to read, I used to hate it. Until 2 years ago I tought book was another sinonyme for boring, but know I'm an addict, there's so much more in books, when you start to read a book it's almost like a comittement, you know that it will last a few days, you might not even like it, but you're willing to read it.
You feel so much more when you start to read, it doesn't even compare to a movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a bird feed his baby once, it was really cute...

I haven't done a lot of amazing stuff, but I've seen a lot, I'm young I know but I traveled a lot, I lived some weird, complicated, bizarre, funny situation. I mean I almost crashed in a plane once, I'm pretty sure that's incredible.
