ABOUT ME

I was born in Sri Lanka, raised in Dubai, finished high school in Singapore, and went to college in upstate New York. I'm pretty outgoing and usually up for anything, especially if I haven't done it before. I've spent a good amount of time playing cricket and rugby, training and competing in tae kwon do, playing the drums, ballroom dancing, and scuba diving. I look forward to the next adventure, and fun new people to undertake it with!

PHILOSOPHY

Life's just one big learning adventure: the only things that are important are that you enjoy both those aspects of it, and contribute to others around you doing the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined CouchSurfing. For now I'm looking for couches around the world, but come July, I'll have a couch of my own somewhere in the US to return the favor with!

I'm also kind of a dork about science and technology... must have something to do with studying engineering

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty musically diverse. I play the drums and grew up appreciating all sorts of rock genres first. Lately I've moved into various types of electronica. Salsa, samba, jazz and the blues are too much fun to not have in my life, and there's even a spot for some hip hop and rap every once in a while.
I haven't read much in a while, but when I did I mostly enjoyed sci-fi and fiction. I'm not a big fan of horror movies - I created a defense mechanism when I was a kid to laugh at everything so I wouldn't be scared, and now horror movies never have any effect on me - but pretty much anything else will entertain me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took off, flew, and landed an airplane!

Teach, Learn, Share

Some things I can teach: a little bit of salsa, some basic latin and standard ballroom dance, how cricket is played, how airplanes stay in the air, how to make an awesome stir-fry!
I'd love to learn a new language, how to surf, and parkour!
