Morceaux de musique, films et livres

i love reading anything that gets me absorbed and expands my mind. things about the universe or the human brain usually get my attention, but i would always go with something by osho or papaji, or poems by rumi. also love any good movie, one recent favorite is birdman or the girl with the dragon tattoo, as well as stuff like boyhood or waking life. anything by richard linklater really.

as for music (assuming you really wanna get into this conversation) -- i'm a producer, so i'm really into electronic music, anything from trap (my favorite) to dubstep to drum and bass, from k-pop to future bass to jersey club to chillstep? from full on psy trance to deep house to hardstyle - everything. i'm like a walking database for songs. and that's only the electronic-influenced stuff.
i also love rock, specially the 80s/90s grunge scene from seattle, bands such as alice in chains (favorite), silverchair, nirvana pearl jam or candlebox. different stuff like rage against the machine, arctic monkeys, new stuff by robert plant and the sensational spaceshifters, heavier stuff like system of a down (recently went to a show it was sick), skindred, maximum the hormone, and so on. there's also some psychedelic stuff like all them witches, samsara blues experiment, causa sui, mogwai, damn pink floyd.
other blues-influenced rock bands like blues pills (such an amazing band) or alabama shakes.
let me see, downtempo artists such as massive attack, portishead, thievery corporation, tycho. anything by gorillaz (really looking forward to their next album).
the current rap scene is great, i'm a fan of asap rocky, tyler the creator, hopsin, travis scott. however you can't compare them to the old school hip hop artists like fugees (i've been listening to their album the score nonstop), outkast (albums atliens or aquemini) and wu-tang clan or busta rhymes. there are a few brazilian rappers that are good too.
anyway, that was all from the western world.
there are some pretty crazy instruments in the eastern world, i love ravi shankar, manish vyass, prem joshua, many indian mantras, meditation music in general, songs with caribbean steel drums, a kuduro/electronic music group from angola called buraka som sistema. i also love this african band called tinariwen!
norwegian jazz artist nils peter molvaer is amazing too.
sometimes i even listen to binaural beats or native american shamanic drums.

well, yeah, that was a small fraction of my musical taste. i love pretty much anything that you can listen to, except for a few brazilian genres, there's some impressively terrible music around here too.
