ABOUT ME

I'm presently teaching English as a second language in a place called Long Gang, in the Wenzhou area, in Zhejiang province, in China. I've been here almost eight months, but have thus far only seen Wenzhou and Hanzhou. I want to see more. More of China and more of the rest of the world.
Despite studying the language while I've been in here, my language skills are still limited. This is something I want to remedy, as I don't think you can really judge a place without understanding the people. I want to see as many places in China as possible and meet even more interesting people. I'm hoping the couch surfing community will aid me in doing that.

PHILOSOPHY

It changes with everything I experience and everyone I meet, so I guess my philosophy is to be open to and welcome change.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It wasn't initiated via this network, however I invited a couple of Finish girls who we met in Hungary to stay with me and my friends in Sheffield, my home town. They initially only planed to stay for a week or so, but ended up staying for almost a month. They had a great time, and so did we the whole time they were there. It was an honour to show them round and introduce them to the natives of my town and country. It's something I'd love to facilitate again and also experience for myself.

Centres d'intérêt

Good films, music, literature etc. Good, new, interesting food and drink. Meeting, knowing and understanding interesting, honest, open minded people. Celebrating life and partying with said people.

I'm fairly well-spoken in my native language so would be happy to exchange knowledge of my own language in exchange for others. I can also moonwalk and do 'the worm'.
