Hi!

I'm Raven. I'm 22 years old, genderqueer, vegan, and a social justice activist. I'm currently going to college in Illinois but I'd like to move away from here soon. In my free time I like to paint, draw, read, cook, or just hang out with friends. I grew up in the U.S. for part of my life then went to elementary/middle school in Hungary for a few years as well. When I went to Hungary, they had compulsory English classes but they taught British English so I had to relearn English all over again, but now since I've been living in the U.S. for a while my English is a weird mixture of British and American. I've travelled a lot in my life and been to many places so I've got stories I can tell about everywhere I've been :)
I'm terrible at writing about myself so if you'd like to know anything more just ask.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going to be travelling to London, UK for a few days and would love to find some vegan/vegetarian hosts in the inner city area that I can stay and make friends with. :)
If anyone's got a spare bedroom or couch where I could stay I am also willing to pay a reasonable amount for each night.

Interests

I like cooking and baking vegan food and trying out new recipes. I've heard there are loads of vegan restaurants in London so I am really looking forward to trying some of those out!
I'm also really interested in arts so I like painting, drawing, and singing.
I also like hanging out with friends, reading, or surfing the internet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music(in no specific order): Bring Me The Horizon, Rise Against, Anti-Flag, Linkin Park, Crown the Empire, Evanescence, Goldfinger, Sum 41, Star Fucking Hipsters, Leftover Crack, Itch, Palisades, Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, Muse, Five Knives, Killer Mike, Die Antwoord, Skrillex, Krewella, and I listen to a lot of assorted EDM, as well as some bad top 40 here and there. I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now.

Movies: Way too many to list, but I usually like action, suspense, adventure, or good comedies. I also like old campy horror films.
I also like some TV programmes such as Doctor Who, The Catherine Tate show, South Park, Torchwood, The Daily Show, The Nightly Show.

Books: I love the Harry Potter series and have been really into re-reading it lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, one amazing thing I'm planning on doing is travelling to a foreign country all by myself. I've never travelled anywhere outside of the U.S. alone so I'm a bit scared but also excited!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my vegan cooking and baking, tidy up around the house and help with things such as dishes and cleaning, and share stories of past adventures :)
If anybody is into the same books, films, music or anything else that I am into, then we can also have lengthy conversations about those as well.
