I'm laid back, good humoured, interested in the world, and want to meet YOU!
After a few years of travelling with all my possessions on my back after taking a one-way ticket to Mexico City, I have now settled down by the mountains and lakes of North Wales. It's something that amazes me; I like the idea that small decisions can lead to big changes, and that it's possible to do what you do best and enjoy most. I try to be the best person I can be and influence those around me in a positive way. I feel like I've been on a lucky streak for a long time with so many things in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Overwhelmingly positive - let's meet up!
Mostly, good conversation and joking and passing time with people.
I'm interested in what is happening in the world, and people fascinate me. So I always want to learn more. An afternoon walking around a town talking and sipping chai is a good one. I'm in love with Juventus. Early morning yoga. Vegetarian food and COOKING. Swimming. I like playing backgammon/tavla/sheshbesh, and chess, especially if the spectators are old men in beige jackets falling asleep in a park (it's a good life). The Aztecs and Maya. If you put me on a boat I'll probably throw up for an hour, sorry.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: anything with a good rhythm to get the hips loose and the head nodding. For artists, I like explosions in the sky, fink, boards of canada, flying lotus, nas, black hippy (too much hip-hop is never enough), bonobo, kings of leon, some of aphex twin. And after so many hours on south american buses I now like cumbia - it'll probably make your head explode.
Films: crime stories like the usual suspects, traffic, the departed. Everything from waltz with bashir to big trouble in little china to eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Between naps I'm making my way through a book about economics... errrrr, actually between naps I'm making my way through more naps...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled with and without a destination.
Once I tried to climb a mountain, but I couldn't do it. Three years later I went back tried again... this time, I made it to the summit! Huayna Potosí, 6088m, Bolivia!
