ABOUT ME

I am a painter. I have been studying and working and am now traveling on a grant in europe. I went to college in New Mexico and studied the great books of western writing. I have a great curiosity, I am very open minded and have a good work ethic. I have a purpose and direction and consider myself lucky to have found what I love to do. I enjoy sports and people. I self entertain pretty darn well and always find that I have more to observe or learn about the world to keep me entertained. I like to walk.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am traveling at the moment and have been living a pretty migratory lifestyle following the best opportunities for education in painting. However, I do see myself settling in to a home and studio in the future and at that point would love to host travelers or people interested in the arts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent years playing Ultimate Frizbee on a competitive level and when doing so there was always a great amount of traveling. when we would arrive in the cities to play we would play all day and then find a floor to crash on for the next couple of nights. i loved every experience. the kindness of people to open up a corner of a room for a backpack and sleeping bag was great. i have since traveled around a good amount and crashed on all different surfaces, couches, floors, sheds, roofs, and boats. i am in a stage where i can't spend a lot of money, and always appreciate someones generosity.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love all the russian authors, plus many others, hugo, joyce, dickens, hemingway, etc. i love poets like wallace stevens, and whitman. i loved the film black cat white cat, the big lebowski, and the outlaw jossie wales. i have diverse tastes and interests in films and my music taste is the same.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I was crashing a a friends farm in northern kenya and one morning we rode some of the horses up on to the grassland above the farm. we found a heard of zebra and while hugging the backs of the zebra we road right beside and blended as part of the herd.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach people to draw and paint. although it does take a bit longer to learn than the time i will stay on someones couch.

I am interested in learning some more about cooking.
