About Me

To learn, try new things and get messy!

I am 25 years old and a recent Masters graduate from the Environmental Science collage at Antioch University New England, Keene, NH, USA. After graduation I moved to Indonesia, which is where I am at right now. This has been a huge culture shock but I'm enjoying it a lot! I hope that through CouchSurfers, I'll be able to explore more of this beautiful country.

I am passionate about conservation and ecology, as well as traveling to new places. I'm very fortunate that I'm able to combine these two passions into my everyday life. I would love to be able to publish a book on all my travels and experiences someday soon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to Surf but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to host any Surfers.

The only experience I've had with Surfing is from one of my friends who is a member. She told me all about her experiences while she was in Europe which made me want to join.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most music: country, classical, rock, R&B, jazz... I think my favorite type of movies are Bollywood! For books I love: Eat, Pray, Love, Anne of Green Gables, LOTR and the Hungry Games Trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have done was behavioral research on pygmy marmosets in the Amazon Rainforest, Peru. I would wake up early in the morning and paddle over in a dugout canoe to their feeding trees and sit and watch the family of marmosets for the day. I was able to get really close to them too. This is something I will never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing that I would like to share is the importance of globalization. With the world population at 7 billion people, it is vital that everyone begin to learn as much as they can about other cultures, religions and countries, and respect differences and similarities between them. It is my hope that I'll be able to accomplish spreading the world through Surfers.
