Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

To experience everywhere and everything that I can.

ABOUT ME

I recently graduated from Boise State's English grad program where I was also a composition instructor. Of course I love books and talking about books and fighting about books. I have quick and sharp sense of humor, very laid back and go with the flow of life since I know I have very little control over it.

PHILOSOPHY

My sister teaches 3rd grade and has two rules: Be Kind and Do Your Best. I try to use this as a map to live by. Everything else will fall into place.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I can only surf because I my roommate isn't open to the idea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a wonderful experience in Portland, Maine. He had a room just for couchsurfers and was well-traveled himself. He cooked for us and drove us to different parts of Maine. It was far above what I expected and would ever expect again, but it did open me up to surfing again after that.

Interessi

I enjoy discussing and critiquing movies and books, as well as traveling every chance I get. I like to be outside and exploring.

Musica, film e libri

I like country, folk, and alternative. Particularly from the 90s.
I like movies that are adapted from books and anything that appears to have taken more than an afternoon to write. I also prefer more contemporary fiction but can hold my own when discussing the classics.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Whenever I imagine what it feels like to be really alive I remember lying at the edge of a cliff at Dun Aengus in Ireland and staring down at the ocean crashing against the rocks with the wind blowing fiercely and the white seabirds circling far below.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I have traveled through England, Ireland, Paris, Wales, Seattle, and San Francisco and lived in New Jersey/New York last summer. Nothing has taught me more or increased my self-confidence more than being a freshman composition teacher or working in childcare. They both tore me down in order to build me up.
Last summer I was voluntarily homeless and bought a Greyhound bus pass and traveled to 9 different cities, mostly on the East Coast. I hated being asked what was my favorite part because I felt like answering would cheapen the experience.
