About Me

CURRENT MISSION

stay alive

ABOUT ME

I am an open-minded, curious person who has traveled all over without really setting out to do so. My work and various artistic inquiries and projects have given me opportunities to meet incredible people all over the world. I love traveling as an artist rather than a tourist---the connections you make are so genuine. I'll never forget standing at the top of a mountain in Nepal or watching a sunset over the rooftops of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia or driving through the wine country of beautiful Italy. I am quick to smile and a rather optimistic person who tends to problem solve more than I wallow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing.com but I have been doing this within my own network of friends for years!

Interests

I am very interested in technology, how we communicate today, and how we use online social networks and technical interfaces to do almost everything in our daily lives. I love going to performances, dancing, and sometimes just being alone. I spend a lot of my time on a computer, reading, researching, writiing, and designing. This year my goal it to spend more time in the studio for me. I teach at a university and I love going for long walks by myself on the trails around my new home here in Taipei. I also love photography, yoga, and doing things I haven't done before.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving. That moment when the parachute pulls and suddenly--it's silent. Just the flapping of the parachute in the wind and my bright red tennis shoes that swung out in front of me and just dangled there, in the air with the Italian countryside beneath me and the Alps in the distance.

Waking up at dawn to catch the sunrise in Hualien, Taiwan.

Being present while my cousin gave birth to her baby girl. Wow. Wow. Wow.
