ABOUT
We are Mareike and Jan, both 28 years old and normally the inhabitants of Reduta Jazz Club – yes, we named our flat.
After finishing our studies we quit our jobs in Germany and in December 2014 we got on a plane heading to South East Asia.
For the next year we will be travelling the world.

Always at hand: a camera, a pen, appetite and the idea to share our travelling experiences with other people.

WHAT MORE TO SAY?
We met each other during our studies in Spain (Huelva, Andalucía) and moved together three years ago. Visiting our friends abroad we have already slept on many different couches.

As we are currently not living in our flat we don't have a couch to offer. This will change again once we have settled down again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We try to offer our couch as often as possible and would love to show people around our town or just meet for a coffee.
Furthermore, as we try to travel whenever we can, we like to stay at other couches' homes and meet their owners – that's what makes travelling unique.

Interests

We enjoy all the good things in life: travelling, sun, old school music on vinyl, a good whisky, bars, but also art, literature, museums, a walk in the park. Healthy food and cooking. Or just a beer.

Music from The Beatles, The Stones or Bob Dylan to Ray Charles or good new music. Always enjoying a live concert.
Movies from Terentino to Woody Allen. More art house than blockbusters. From "Back to Future" to "The diving bell and the butterfly" ...
Books, as we both studied literature, we are quite into them!

Walking on Kafka's footsteps in Prague.
Travelling on the mighty Mekong in Laos.
Watching the sunset at Lake Matheson in New Zealand.
Celebrating with Spanish people on the "Feria de El Rocío".
Visited the real Reduta Jazz Club in Prague – the one where Bill Clinton once jammed.

Teach, Learn, Share

An inexhaustible knowledge of anecdotes and facts about German football.
Maybe accompanied with a visit of an honest match of Bochum's second Bundesliga team in the stadium nearby our flat.

A good collection of literature – of course available for you during your stay.

Meals taste better when prepared together: cooking is one of our passions!
