About Me

I live life with a little bit of humour, fun, adventure and love. I am passionate about ancient sciences, art, culture and theatre. In fact, professionally, I am a Mumbai-based arts and feature writer with the Times of India group publication, Mumbai Mirror. I am forever evolving and discovering myself. To me that's the ultimate goal of human life... like a journey that never ends. It could go on forever, quite literally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to couchsurfing. But I think it's a great way to meet locals, understand and experience a new place.

Interests

My interests are practising yoga and sometimes, laughing at stupid jokes. I enjoy travelling, reading, trekking up the mountains, gallivanting around museums and old cities in search of stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music, movies, books that make me cry, laugh, and smile at the same time... Too many to list, but here are a few...

Music: Beatles and U2

Movies: The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Cinema Paradiso, Before Sunset, Before Sunrise, DDLJ...

Books: Bhagavad Gita (Reading it changed my life forever...), A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth (inimitable… such delicious language), books written by Orhan Pamuk, The Enchanted Wood, The Magic Faraway Tree, The Folk of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton (a part of my soul still lives there), Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Animal Farm-by George Orwell, The Oxford Dictionary (because I can never get done with it) and everything that Roald Dahl and Jane Austen have ever written. No one quite matches.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In retrospect, my entire year-long stay in the UK as a student has been an invaluable experience for me, as it gave me the opportunity to study and work in an environment as well as understand a culture far distinct from India.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a trained speech and drama teacher.

Czech Republic, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom
