About Me

CURRENT MISSION

our mission...I would say to consistantly challenge ourselves and always remember how lucky we are to have an opportunity to travel for a long period of time.

ABOUT ME

We are 30/31 year old Americans who quit our jobs in late February 2008 to travel internationally for a year and half. We are pretty laid back all in all. Our travel style is all about seeing a place and moving on before too long. We love the novelty of being in a new place and both thrive off of cultural immersion. Touristy things and must-see sights are not big on our list. We spend a lot of our time outside, either trekking or climbing, but seem to balance this love of the outdoors with a love of good coffee or wine in a new city. We were married in France after 9 (or 10..?) years together. We have done our best to document trip on our blog, check it out if interested..

PHILOSOPHY

Right now.. "man is born to live, not to prepare for life" -B. Pasternak

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are away from home for a long time still so we are unable to offer up our house to fellow travelers. To be honest, we are only learning about CS2 and look forward to getting more involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have heard about Couchsurfing from dozens of travelers along the way. It has taken us 10 solid months of traveling to sign up. Why? Its a very new concept to us. But we became very interested after Janine (from France) spent all 5 days on the Siberian Railway explaining how it works etc...we were sold then.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have been very fortunate to have traveled a fair amount in our lives...the entire thing has been amazing...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Long distance trekking, Climbing, how to quit great jobs, rent out your home and leave your life when everyone thinks you are crazy, BBQing,

Learn: Everything...we are sponges for new info. One of our favorites is to get the behind the scenes beta on a new place. 99% of the world has no idea what is really going on in any other nation but their own. Cooking! Surfing....anything outside..
