About Me

I am a passionate person. I am crazy in love with Latin America, languages, and dancing. My clothes are colourful and so is my mind. I love heat and summer! I tend to be a little sensation seeker but I also enjoy reading and watching films with a glass of wine at hand. I seriously have fun studying grammar. I love writing, blogging, and photography.
I believe in equal rights for all human beings and identify particularly with feminist and LGBT movements.

So that was a lot of "I". What about you?

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Why would I not be on Couchsurfing? I've had amazing experiences surfing, hosting and partying and hope there will follow much more :)

Dancing (Salsa, Pole, Oriental), literature, photography, languages, music festivals, climbing, surfing, cooking&baking

Blogging about my experiences in Latin America: http://latinamericandiary.com/

Music, Movies & Books

1984 (Orson Welles), América (T.C. Boyle), Americanah (Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie), Faust (Goethe), Regenroman (Karen Duve), Mephisto (Klaus Mann), The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns (Khaled Hosseini), Siddharta (Hesse), The Dark Side of Love (Rafik Schami)...

Amélie, American Beauty, Amores Perros, Babel, Basic Instinct, Black Swan, Brokeback Mountain, Chocolat, City of God, Frida, The Full Monty, Match Point, Sin Nombre, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Wadjda..

When I started to develop my own taste in music, I fell in love with alternative rock and I still enjoy Nirvana, my first favorite band, even though nowadays I don't play them too much.
Generally I love music which makes me dance. Given that, I enjoy various Latin American styles: Salsa, Samba, MPB, Bossa Nova... even Reggaeton, to confess a guilty pleasure. I also like HipHop and Gipsy Punk a lot. I never figured out how to move my body to electronic music and enjoy it way less than most people currently do.
For calmer moments I like Soul, acoustic singer-songwriter stuff and also classic music.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Traveling in South America, I fulfilled a childhood dream and swung at a liana through the Amazonian Rain Forest...
just to crash into a tree within about 3 seconds.

More successfully than that, I opened a beer with a sheet of paper at first attempt.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Languages: German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and English; basic French; a bit of Salsa and photography; the recipe of a delicious franconian wine cake; and finally how to open a beer with anything except a bottle opener, such as a sheet of paper.

Learn: Languages, more photography skills, dances, cooking recipes...
