About Me

I am new here, and I think this may end up turning into a longer intro than I expected. I am a what some may call a late bloomer to adult hood. I have seen my friends around me get degrees, get married, and have children. Now they have debt and can't really travel or experience as much as they are very tied down. I realized that wasn't the life for me and I was in no rush for that.

Over the several years to follow I started to slowly get a taste of travel, which would eventually bloom into a travel bug which can not be squashed. My mother (whom is incredible) told my sister and I that when she dies she will leave us with no money or things. She is frugal to the extreme but works 60 hours a week to save money. Not to pass on, not to retire, but to travel. She said "I don't want to leave you with money and things, I want to leave you with memories." So she takes my sister and I on a trip somewhere around the world every year. At this point I think I have been to more countries than states. It is truly amazing and I couldn't ever thank her enough.

I have finally gotten to a point though with our travels that 1 trip a year isn't sufficing. On top of that I am close to a salary position at work. And once that happens long term travel won't be happening. So before it is to late I plan to travel for as long as I can.

My view is we have one life, once chance to see and experience. Life, regardless of how old you live to be, is short. And I know that I want to experience as much as I can while I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well if you read the About Me than I think you will know. But if you didn't. Here is the TLDR version.

Thanks to my mother I have an extreme travel bug. Before I get another promotion at work and get tied down at salary I want to travel as long as I can before the money I saved runs out. I know that using this will help that happen.

Music, Movies, and Books

This section is literally impossible for me to ever fill out. I am obsessed with music and movies. Maybe it is the escape into them that I also seek in travel. I have close to 20,000 songs on my PC and 1500 movies and those numbers are constantly growing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is an oddly broad question.

I love discussing my travels, and so much amazingness happens while traveling. When talking about a lot of it to other travelers it may just be another story. But to people whom don't travel it may be amazing.

In all honesty I am a pretty boring person outside of traveling and don't know what I have ever done that I would consider amazing.

Not really sure what this is asking me for.
