About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see how much trouble my "but you're an adult, what do you think you're doing?" body will let me get into. But without the actual getting into trouble part.

ABOUT ME

Once I become interested about something, I will research that something to death in an effort to satisfy that curiosity.

I spend an inordinate amount of time researching and planning vacations. This includes the history of the intended location for the past millenia. Having every detail of the day mapped out is not my goal; rather, I want to have a menu of options available to me for when I'm getting lost on purpose.

Frak and snap are part of my vocabulary. As is y'all, unless someone can explain to me why english has no better answer to the second plural requirement than "you guys, youse or you."

I have the equivalent of a fangirl crush on MIT's Media lab.

Owning a Nook has changed my life in oh-so-many awesome ways. This has not eliminated, however, my immense love of libraries.

I'm a huge media consumer. Of all types. This includes terrible, terrible television.

Former Peace Corps volunteer.

PHILOSOPHY

"Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature." Tom Robbins

"True education flowers at the point when delight falls in love with responsibility."
Philip Pullman

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly... hanging out at parties.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite was when I stayed at this amazing B&B on the Isle of Mull. Mostly though, I've just been privileged to meet surfers when they stayed with friends. This year in Budapest is the first time I've got places where people can actually stay with me.

Interests

I like reading a good book in one sitting. I feel like the emotional impact is greater that way.

I like to find the tallest building that has a restaurant in whatever city I'm in - and having a drink there.

I'm into fireworks and carnival rides. The scarier the better.

I'm interested in quantum theory, and have a natural tendency to try and find a unifying theory toward all aspects of life.
