I was born in Tarragona (100 km south Barcelona, Spain), although I'm currently living in Barcelona with my love Jessica. We've been together for nearly 7 years.
I studied Chemical Engineering and I was working until a few months ago. My girlfriend was also working but we both think it's time for a change and having new experiences. We want to do a big trip that changes our lives.
I enjoy cooking new recipes continuously. Traveling makes me more open-minded both at kitchen and personally.
My specialty at cooking is Catalan and Spanish cuisine which I learnt from both my mother and grandmother but I'd like to learn to cook dishes from everywhere. By now I have to settle with enjoy Masterchef (yes, in Spain there's a version too x) )
My girlfriend has recently started with a travel blog (in Spanish) about our experiences: www.fleaandacrobat.com. Don't miss it, she's an amazing writer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My couple and I want to do the trip of our lives. We know that the best way to know a place is being taught by locals.
We want to try Couchsurfing, in order to share amazing experiences and host people in the future when we settle on a new place.
When we travel we are not typical tourists. We like being lost on particular narrow streets, eating street food mixed up with the locals, etc.
- I love watching American TV series (Lost, Breaking Bad and Prison Break are my favorites!). Also movies, specially action and psycho-thrillers.
- Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Inception) and David Lynch (The Follower, Twin Peaks) are my favorite directors.
- I can also discuss about football (I mean soccer or European football). My favorite team is Barcelona, although I also enjoy Monaco, Juventus, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. My girlfriend supports Real Madrid (sorry for her...). Honestly, we have a good time discussing!
- Not a politics hooligan, but progressive. Glad to have in Spain a progressive party, which is growing up specially amongst the youth.
- Totally against Trump, Le Pen and company. Our current president Rajoy is "officially" more moderated but the oldest members in the party were at the side of Franco during the civil war. Most people tend to forget that...
- I feel sorry about Brexit, though it's their call.
- Ashamed about European Union and its position about the Refugees. LET'S WELCOME THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL
- italian food
- japanese food
- organic food
- video games
- eating out
- live music
- urban exploration
- meeting new people

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting out of my comfort zone. Our first trip out of Western Europe was in Istanbul and we already had a cultural shock. We travelled at Christmas but there was no sign of any special party. It's the best Christmas we ever had.
The following year we were in Thailand, and we fell in love with such paradise. You discover new challenges, a new yourself. You get really surprised of what you can do.
A funny anecdote I have is, being in Ayuthaya (100 km heading north from Bangkok, in the way to Chiang Mai) with two nice Italians, we wanted to go to a temple but it was already close. Then we found a hidden pub by the lake where we have a beer watching the dawn. That simple thing, at that moment was paradise.
Quitting the job. Some people don't understand why. Most want a stable life, with a house, a family, a car... I was perfectly adapted and it was pretty well-paid, but it was consuming me. I felt I needed a change. And I feel the trip will give meaning to our lives.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught English at teenage level years ago. In Spain the average level is pretty bad. It's a shame x(
In a Couchsurfing experience I can teach Spanish as a traveller level and also my local cooking.
I got the Advanced level in English two years ago, but that's guarantee of nothing. I wanna practice every day to not only forget it but improve it, and share experiences with people around the world.
I have recently started to study German via Duolingo, a real mind-fucking language x)
I'd like to know the REAL refugees situation and how's the war affecting the adjacent countries and the whole world. Our "progressive" media show us nothing but local irrelevant news.
I can share with you the Catalan Process of Independence. Media just show you what they want you to know. We the Catalans are asking for a referendum to decide our future, which can be inside our outside Spain. The Spanish government is taking that as a declaration of war, as if Spain would fall apart.
Whatever it is, the status quo must change: Catalonia has an own language and culture, so we need an independent government to manage some crucial issues like education or health.
I studied Chemical Engineering partially because I love Maths and Chemistry, I can share its connection to reality which is fascinating!
My partner has studied Criminology and there are lots of interesting theories that could show us why we behave in one way or another. I find it awesome.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share experiences on previous trips around Europe. I've been to almost all countries in Western Europe, plus Hungary and Turkey. The far exception is Thailand.
I also enjoy cooking, I get excited when I travel to a place culinary different from mine, knowing I will taste new flavors which I will be able to apply to my cooking.
