My names Richard.
I believe if you asked my friends and family about me
they would say I'm an empathetic, confident, outgoing, trustworthy character. When I was younger I worked on the camp America program and this gave me the bug for travelling and meeting new people.
I love to immerse myself in the local culture and learn about
the environment I find myself in. I've worked in the leisure industry for the past 25 years in a managerial role interacting with
a wide spectrum of people from different backgrounds and with different beliefs, this is something Ive enjoyed immensely. I love to watch football and walk along my local beaches when I get them time. I enjoy travelling, meeting new people ,socialising, reading and walking. My key values are: Integrity and having fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was in my mid 30's I went travelling alone to Australia, having good savings I stayed in hotels. What a mistake, I realised what I enjoyed most about travelling was the people I'd met along the way and the stories we shared. I checked out of my hotel and into a hostel. I met some wonderful people and really enjoyed the experience. I would hope couchsurfing would enable me to meet like minded people with good local knowledge.
