About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a student at Plymouth University, currently in my first year. Before this I worked in outdoor education teaching bushcraft to kids (Ray Mears stuff without the beer belly). I love Plymouth because of its proximity to Dartmoor (a large open moorland with not much there apart from tons of hills and a national park ripe for exploring!) and opportunities the get outdoors and active.
I am generally outgoing and love meeting new people. I have moved around a lot in my life and have met people from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. I love to play and compete in sport.
I will keep it short and leave it there. I would love to hear from a few of you people out there. And if you ever find yourself near Plymouth drop me a message, especially if you want someone to explore the moors with!

PHILOSOPHY

I figure there is always something new to see, something different to try and so I believe in fitting as many activities into my time as possible, the more unusual the better. Especially whilst at university with so many opportunities to learn a new skill on your doorstep. I try to have a work hard play hard philosophy in everything I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing and am keen to get involved in the community. Sadly I am in student accommodation and so cannot host, but I am happy to hang out! I am planning a trip to Japan this summer and hope to meet a few couch surfers there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None to date with Couchsurfing, hope to change that soon though!

Interests

I am interested in outdoor education and love working with kids. I enjoy anything outdoors like mountaineering and camping and I love sport, especially trying out new sports. Recently I took up Kendo and cannot get enough of it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love comedy, but the best film has to be Gladiator.
I enjoy reading novels when I am not reading university books/ sleeping with my head resting on them hoping to learn through osmosis!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best experiences I have had was up in the snow covered French Alps where there was no sound, simply silence and no sign of human activity anywhere, it was truly majestic. Slightly tarnished by the fact I was Nordic (cross country) skiing at the time which is like normal skiing but uphill and painful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach bushcraft and outdoor survival skills. I am happy to share my English and what Spanish I know to anybody who is interested.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Malaysia, Malta, Oman, Puerto Rico, Tunisia, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Qatar, Spain, United Kingdom
