About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a very outgoing person who is very interested in learning about other cultures. I've traveled abroad several times including China, Thailand, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Indonesia.

I'm currently in India awaiting my friend's arrival for his wedding in the middle of the month. Looking forward to meeting interesting people and learning more about this amazing country!

I'm currently working on developing a website that will provide income so that I can extend my travels overseas. I love meeting new people and broadening my horizons. I enjoy reading, watching movies, great discussions, thinking up solutions to problems and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was not aware of how expensive Indian hotels would be compared to places I've stayed in Southeast Asia! I would love to spend more money on visiting the country as I have a very tight budget. I am also interested in learning more about the country from locals who know more than any guidebook could tell me.

Interests

Back home, I like to play bass guitar, listen to music, do computer programming and work on entrepreneurial endeavors. Of course, I enjoy travel and meeting people from all over the world.

I played in a blues/rock band called The New and Slightly Used (you can listen to us on Spotify and iTunes) but quit to travel for six months. I'm currently just beginning my third month of travels. I'm travelling with a childhood friend who has not yet traveled before.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Mummy, The Fountain, The Aviator, Cloud Atlas, The Island, Inception, too many to list!

Books: Three Cups of Tea, Creating a Social Business, Hyperion, As a Man Thinketh, The Lights in the Tunnel, Zero to One, and many, many more.

Music: I love good music - which pretty much spans all genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hiked up a Volcano in Indonesia, started an online business, played bass guitar in front of hundreds of people on stage. I've walked on the Great Wall of China and have dived off the coast of the Yucatan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to teach whatever I can to whomever I can. I love learning and teaching is the other side of the coin. In fact, the better you can teach something, the more you understand it. Teaching is the beginning point of truly understanding a subject.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a very courteous attitude. I'm looking for this to be enjoyable for both myself and for the hosts who are gracious enough to bring me into their homes! Feel free to ask many any questions. I'm very easy going and am just happy to have a bed to sleep in :)
