About Me

Dinner parties, whiskey, running! travelling!

Hello! my name is Richard, I'm 33, my wife is called Heather and we live in Sheffield, England. In my spare time, I love to go running, I love the majority of sports , I've also just taken up triathlon, after being inspired from the Olympic games! I'm also massively into music. I have played the drums in various bands, for a few years now, though I've never had to have a lesson, it came natural to me. I love the feeling of creating, developing and playing music live or recorded.

I'm easy going, love a joke with friends and love to travel and meet new people, experience new cultures etc. We both love food and drink, enjoying what we know and appreciating what we discover. I love exploring new countries and cultures too! (Hope this isn't too boooring??!!)

Treat people the way you want others to treat you, and manors cost nothing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to meet and stay with new people who may even become new friends.

Ive had people to stay at an old house I used to live in, it was a good experience.

I love music, good food and wine/beer, good conversation, people who have a story to tell. Kind, honourable, trustworthy and considerate people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, its one of my favourite interests. I love indie rock n roll to classical. Being English, I grew up on The Stone Roses and Oasis, I also love Doves, Andy Burrows (Ex Razorlight), Sigur Ros etc. I also love folk music.

Films/movies? I think my all time favourite movie is The Shawshank Redemption! The Green Mile is also really good. There are far too many to mention to be honest.

I have never ever read any books, I don't want to either. I do plenty of 'reading' as such but not books, we just don't mix.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I play the drums and have played some very cool venues in the UK. I also got married to Heather in September 2011, which was the best day of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

people who are up for a laugh, happy to have a good time, people who are laid back/easy going and intelligent. Not the kind of intelligence which promotes their ow achievements, but that which shows their humbleness.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
