About Me

I'm talkative, active and creative. My passions are skating, hiking and snowboarding. I also love travelling and learning about other cultures - like most couchsurfers.

I care about people. Friends and family are important for me. I am good at staying in touch. (Although I am usually slow with answering messages, because I'm usually really busy.)

When I have guests, I can share some things about my country and show interesting places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to host people and occasionally, I surf on couches. When I'm on holiday, I also like to meet up for a coffee in the city centre.

Like each CouchSurfer I like travelling, meeting people from other countries, hear about their culture and background.

I like being outside. The kind of things I usually do: cinema (and I prefer the open air cinema's in August), skating events (Utrecht, Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris!), all kind of outdoor activities, terrace/pub and much more. A few years ago, I discovered skating (on bicycle roads in the Netherlands: you can go anywhere), hiking and snowboarding (usually I go to Switzerland), which all became very important in my life.

I am creative, so I spend a lot of time making websites, decorating my house, organising activities and making music (piano/keyboard, accordeon, guitarre and djembe).

Music, Movies, and Books

Arthouse movies usually and a romcom once in a while so that I don't forget to believe in fairy tales. I like to go to the cinema once in a while, especially the arthouse cinema's (in Dutch: kijkhuis).

Last years, unfortunately, I didn't have time to read books.

All kinds of music (and I also make my own music). I like world music, African music in particular. Arists that I like are amongst others: James Blunt, Stromae

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled to Paris with a friend, hitch-hiked through Europe, made a trekking in the north of Sweden, camped on a frozen lake in Switzerland and much more probably.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach playing piano, accordeon, basics of guitarre, skating, basics of snowboarding (indoor snow hall at 3 km from my house!), dutch language. You can also participate in all kind of activities that I organize. I would like to learn french and spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Making music together or teach how to play an instrument, teach some dutch language, tell about how the dutch prevent floodings in the Netherlands, tell about dutch offshore industry (sounds uninteresting? usually people love to hear more about this!) and probably more than this.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Venezuela, Zimbabwe
