I love to travel and stay with locals, sharing in the normal daily life. I find it gratifying to be immersed in various cultures and learn new customs and traditions. I love to contribute in any way I can, adding value to people and circumstance in the ways that I'm able.

The rule in my kitchen: There's a pizza down the street! Therefore, we can be creative with food and cook with no stress, having fun and pouring love into the food (the single most important ingredient). And, if for some reason the food is terrible, we'll order a pizza and laugh at the glorious mishap!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing for community.

I travel a lot and find staying with locals a great way to make lifelong friends and learn the local stories. I’ve hosted several surfers and met up with many during my travels.

When in Bali pre-pandemic, every morning I’d jump on hangouts. Within minutes, I’d hear from a surfer, “plans today?” I’d reply, “nothing yet, just going with the flow.” I’d hear every time, “great, pick you up in 20 minutes!” No kidding, this was the typical response. And to my surprise, a stranger picked me up, over and over again, and we stepped into adventures together.

My trips are always extraordinary, in part because of couchsurfing. =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During college, I ran a summer camp for people with disabilities. It was the most extraordinary place to learn and grow. The laughs, the love, the depth, the discovery, it was all so juicy! I worked there for 7 seasons and ran it for 5. Magic is real.
