About Me

Hi i'm John from rights 4 water;

Most people consider water an everyday object and take for granted the privilege of making use of this commodity. We use it to brush our teeth, wash our clothes, cleaning, personal hygiene and, of course, to drink. We turn on our taps and fresh, drinkable, water flows out. Though what if we were to tell you that one in three people on our planet do not have the fortune that is having access to drinkable water? You might think that is crazy right?

Unfortunately, it is a fact that even in this modern day one third of human beings do not have reliable access to drinking water. Water is an essential to all life on this planet so why is it that such a large number, nearly two and a half billion people, do not have access to this life sustaining substance.

Rights for Water World Trip is an independent fundraising project created with the intent to change this situation. We have partnered up with Emmaus, a worldwide homelessness prevention organisation active in 37 countries, who are also aiming to improve the situation regarding water issues in Benin, Columbia, Italy, to name a few, among other countries.

It is our goal, as a team, to travel the world- raising awareness of our cause, spending as little money as possible. Our task will include hiking, camping, staying with various communities and working to overcome any obstacles which we are met with along the way.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I like to meet local people in the places we visit to learn more about their local culture, food and habits rather then be on the side of a hotel's swimmingpool and meet people from the country we do live in, discovering the ins and outs right from those that do know them the best. LOCALS. It also allows us to accomplish our mission with a little more ease
