No mission... just meeting new people
A brief description of me: 30, male, dutch, christian. BUT... I hope I don't comply to all of the stereotyped images that pop up in your mind at this very moment... I tend to be a little guarded at first but I'm always up for a good talk. Talks about anything important to someone or in life will do, if your passion is knitting socks and if your eyes start to sparkle if you tell me about it, I won't mind listening :)
As there seem a lot of people on here who like partying (as in drinking till late in an overcrowded bar with no one able to hear another because of the noise), I'm not one of them. It's not that I'm against it, but it's just not part of my life or of any value to me. To be sure, I'm up for a drink anytime, as long as it's about meeting each other...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm not that experienced in couchsurfing; have hosted a few and have surfed about eight wonderful homes during a trip to the USA and Mexico.
I like anything beautiful whether it's in image, in words, in sound, in vision, in ideals or in people.
I love anything that thats sparks my curiosity (not much needed for that).
I adore the things I don't understand and make me wonder.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Sigur Ros, Helios, Cocorosie (and many others, but quite picky at the same time, mostly ambient, post rock, folk, singer-songwriter and old soul. More general; just anything that sounds great)
Books: Anything will do, even uninteresting books are interesting sometimes. Two authors I must mention are: CS Lewis and Jack Vance
Movies: Garden state, ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've seen was when I was flying from Geneve to Amsterdam. Near Amsterdam, while descending to the airport the plane was flying between two layers of clouds. So imagine a ceiling of clouds and a floor of clouds as far as you can see. At the same time, the sun was already setting and beaming right between the layers towards the plane, adding some reds and shadows to the clouds...
