I'm Ríoghnach, I'm 22 and I'm a student. My name is Irish and it's pronounced "Ree-oh-nah" in case you wondered. 😊
I'm from Strabane in the North of Ireland but I live in Belfast during the academic year for university!
I would say I'm quite outgoing and love meeting new people! If you are visiting Ireland especially the North, I would love to hear from you to possibly meet up and I can show you around 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first joined couch surfing to meet new people and to hopefully host a few people in Belfast, however to date I have not had any couch surfers stay with me. I cannot host couchsurfers at the moment as I don't have my own place but I am very keen to meet up with people visiting Belfast or anywhere in the North of Ireland to show them around some of the most interesting and historical sights!

Interests

Listening to music and going to live music events is probably my biggest interest. More about that in the next section 😜!

I have well and truly got the urge to travel. Until this year I hadn't travelled much so I decided to go interrailing in continental Europe for a month and it was truly the best experience and most fun I've ever had! I met some of the coolest most interesting people ever!

I love Gaelic Football (traditional Irish sport) and I support my home county, County Tyrone. I used to play Gaelic Football as well but haven't played since breaking my leg and ankle last year 😖!

I I LOVE animals! :) I have 2 dogs (West Highland Terriers) named Bobby and Marley and 3 cats named Mollie, Shadow and Stripes. I try to support local animal rescue shelters as much as I can. My 2 westies and one of my cats are all rescues :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lots of different kinds of music including artists such as Ed Sheeran, Biffy Clyro, The Coronas, Ben Howard, The Script and many many more. Going to concerts is one of my favourite things to do. I also really love live Irish traditional music and some local bands! Live music is the best!

I generally like comedy films and your typical rom-com movies but have recently developed a liking for action!
I don't read as much as I would like to but when I do I like to read non fiction which is of interest to me such as autobiographies or historical books.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn new languages, even if just a few phrases. I would also love to learn about different cultures all around the world. I think every new person you meet can teach you something and broaden your perspectives a little more 😊. I am interested in History so I would like to hear about your city or home place and the interesting past it has. I love food so I would love to try the traditional food of the countries I visit.
I can help you practise your English Language or I can also teach you a little bit of my native Irish language.
I would like to share with you bands which I like and introduce you to music you've never heard before. I can tell you about Ireland, especially the North of Ireland and the interesting history of my country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As your guest, I would like to share my enthusiasm and happiness. I would like to take hosts out for a few drinks or coffee and I can also cook you a lovely Irish meal. I would like to chat about my experiences and culture and most of all make memories of a lifetime travelling in new places with great people.
