About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I want to chase knowledge and beauty.
I want to become a culturally richer person and,on top of that,I know I have to work a lot on myself too.

ABOUT ME

I'm a good listener,reflexive,curious,open-minded and easy going.
I'm a bit over-analyzing and I take some time to open up to someone.
What else should I say?I'm not good in self-descriptions (probably because I don't like them very much,I'd rather speak through my opinions than describe myself),but if you want to go on and try to discover it by yourself,I'm here.

Interests

I'm deeply interested in sciences, especially in neurosciences, one of my major interests, actually ....whatever begins with "neuro" will probably grab my attention.(my favourite topics in neuroscience are memory, language and consciousness).
I'm very curious about biochemistry,biology,virology,genetics and astrophysics,too.
In addition to neurosciences, there's Art,another topic I cherish deeply,I'm particularly fascinated by paintings, sculture and music.
Unfortunately I can't really play an instrument(but I'll work on learning how to play a guitar someday)but I have a nice voice and love to sing.I'm not so bad at drawing, and I'm actually going to an art course in my spare time.
I'll add classical literature, too, reading books written by masters of the past has often been (and still is) a real joy for me,just as like reading poetry,or confronting yourself with philosophy books (even if I still have to improve my knowledge in this fields).

Everything that's artsy(including movies and mangas)or deep and will make me see reality from a different, fresh and original point of view is warmly welcome.

Music, Movies, and Books

Uhmm, let's start with music:I like Genesis (their early albums),Yes,The Rolling Stones,The Beatles, some of Black Sabbath,Rainbow and Pink Floyd songs,Led Zeppelin,The Velvet Underground,Nico..So,I generally have a soft spot for rock and its subgenera, but I don't disdain other kinds of music and I'm costantly working on expanding my musical knowledge.

Movies: Curse of The Golden Flower,Hero,2001:A space odyssey,K-pax,The doubt,Shining,The tree of life,Waitress,Across the Universe,Tokyo Godfathers,Bright Star,In Bruges,The Pianist,Train de Vie,AI,Million Dollar Babe,Broken Flowers,The Truman Show,ecc..those are only the ones that came to my mind right now.

Books:
-Two titles that have left a mark in me : "The book of Disquiet",by F.Pessoa and "Notes from Underground",by F.Dostoyevsky.
-Others books I enjoyed:
By E. Zola: "L'oeuvre,La Bete humaine,L'assomoir"
By J.Conrad "The Shadow Line,Heart of Darkness"
More from Dostoyevsky "The Idiot,White Nights".
-Other titles at random:"Storia di una capinera" by G.Verga,"The Great Gatsby" J.Fitzgerald,"Les Paradis Artificiels",by C.Baudelaire,"The Remains of the Day"by K.Ishiguro,"Norwegian Wood,Dance Dance Dance,"by H.Murakami..ecc..I have a collection of Emiliy Dickinson's Poems too.
--Honorable mentions to Oliver Sacks' books ,V.Ramachandran's "The Tell-Tale Brain",Kary Mullis' "Dancing Naked in the Mind Field"and Rita Levi Montalcini's
"L'elogio dell'imperfezione".

I'll mention one of my favorite mangas, too; I've started to like it in my late teens and, even if I am in my twenties now and my tastes have changed a lot,it's still a pleasure to read it..it's Real by Takehiko Inoue.

I am focusing on reading more classics and scientific books at the moment. I'd love to talk about book/movie preferences, anyway, just ask me :).
