ABOUT ME

Where to begin...I've done many things during my 50+ years on the planet, the tread that binds it all together is a passion for the planet and the diversity of life we share it with. I was raised in the Trinity Alps of northern California, lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains (Palo Alto/Portola Valley) overlooking the Bay Area for 12 years and in the Sonoran Desert west of Tucson AZ for 17 years and now I live near Anchorage, Alaska. Another place of extremes. I spent a decade studying wild figs in northern Mexico. My son was born in 1997 so naturally, parenting has been the focus of things since then. My son Gabe and I lived in southern Colorado from 2006-2012, briefly returned to Tucson. In the summer of 2013 I met and fell in love with an Alaskan. We moved to Eagle River, AK in October to start a new chapter

PHILOSOPHY

Oh my.....eco-radical, freethinking, buddhist. What is important? Integrity, engagement, humor, pragmatism, beauty, reciprocity, the precautionary principle.

Currently reading Biomimicry, Bill McKibben Deep Economics, waiting for Terry Tempest Williams new book "Finding Beauty in a Broken World", like quirky indie films and political/socially challenging documentaries (Moore, Food Inc., Age of Stupid for example); Juvenile fantasy fiction is fun too.
