Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Relaxing, eating fruit, running and becoming a good CS member (I'm new)
ABOUT ME
I'm half-American, half-Tanzanian. Moved around a lot growing up and am eager to move around some more, especially to those areas of the world I haven't seen much of. Love cooking (though still a beginner), running, rooftops/mountains, ocean, cats, horses, Ethiopian food and fantasy novels. And, needless to say, meeting people.
PHILOSOPHY
"'Tis a gift to be simple, 'tis a gift to be free." Life is not something to prepare for or succeed at. It has no rules and it has no end-point. Work does not make someone worthy - we all have the same worth from the start. And that which is important is to love and be loved and to always be learning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just joined so I haven't done anything yet. I would love to host and surf and get involved in other ways if possible.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None at the moment. That is, none through couch surf. I suppose my most interesting one night host was an ex-German spy in the bush in Tanzania. And my most comfortable, a mansion on Knight's Bridge Rd. in London.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - lots of things but I was raised on '60s American (Beatles, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Crosby Stills and Nash..) and Musical theater (My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Singing in the Rain, Phantom of the Opera...). And played the violin for a while so have a taste for classical. And I'm half-African - so Zimbabwean, Tanzanian, South African music is particularly sweet to my ears.
Movies - I don't have too much experience here because I lived without TV for a while. Some favorites: 12 angry men, A Few Good Men, Baghdad Cafe, Up, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Shakespeare in Love, L'Auberge Espagnol..
Books - This is the hardest. Here are a few: Catch-22, All the King's Men, Manhattan Transfer, Watership Down, Siddartha, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Rings & Hobbit, Along Came a Dog, all of Lloyd Alexander's stuff, The Bronze Bow, Walk Two Moons, Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities
