ABOUT ME

Hey, well, how do I start... I am a twin! Yeah for easy surface facts ... ahm... I lived in Turkey for a while, it just exacerbated the travel itch and my desire to forcibly remove my inhibitions and become brave, self-confident and independent. So, that's something. I love to read and think and talk, though it might seem like I'm a meek silent type when you first meet me, I melt pretty quick and then you can't stop the chatter! I love to learn things, to challenge myself, though I have to fight against scaredy-cat tendencies. Ahm, other quick facts, I'm slow at everything, dunno why, I like to use commas, I like to write, I have trouble eating spicy food, but I will do the best I can if it's a new experience! I think that last statement sums me up pretty well, actually.

Interests

Woops, I feel like these descriptive areas sort of run together... oh well, I love to read, to write, to walk, to learn, to think about hard questions and pare down convoluted answers (okay, the end result is the rewarding part of that, not the process :) I love history, historical tours, I like to discuss religion and world politics, though I am emotionally invested in the former and ill-informed in the latter. I love/hate physical exercise, but my health and body are very important to me. I like to learn about how people keep themselves healthy, what philosophies they follow or tricks they use to keep themselves ticking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't know much about music, but if you want to teach your ways, share your bands/movements/periods I'm down with it. I love movies, but I haven't seen many classic films or anything that would make me a connoisseur. I like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings-if it's a saga, I probably like it. I like sci-fi, period romance/drama, political drama (to a degree), but if you have a fav movie that I have to see, I wanna see it. Books books books, I want to be literate, and I love the process of becoming so. Cracking open a book and watching the insides ooze out and mix into my brain until it is canon cake batter is the best feeling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched the sun rise beyond the mountains, between the mountains, through the mountains, and heard the sharp, plaintive cry of the muezzin as it encouraged God's people to kneel before him. Then I went back to sleep.

Teach, Learn, Share

Eh... Turkish if you want to learn. I can try to teach Turkish. I'm pretty good at being a teacher if I can think of something to share, but at this point in my life I am more of a student in all respects :)
