About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel, travel, travel, while I am able.

ABOUT ME

I am 70 years old, retired. I have decided to spend my golden years traveling the world, as long as I am able. I am on a limited income, so Couchsurfing is a big help to me. I want to stay in each place long enough to learn about the country, the people, and culture. Couchsurfing has helped me on short trips, and on longer stays while I search for a place of my own. I enjoy meeting all types of people, I have no prejudices, quirks, or oddities that might make surfers uncomfortable. I am very liberal when it comes to social issues. I believe people should be free to do as they wish as long as it does not harm others. Live and let live! I am a good Couchsurfer. I will do my share to help around the house, and will contribute to buying groceries, gas money, or whatever else may be needed. I am quiet, and will keep my space clean at all times. I love to share information on my travels and life in my home country, and I don't require much from my hosts. Some good chat now and then, maybe cooking some local foods together, going out, or whatever the host would like to do and has time for. Otherwise, I ask a few questions, and can be on my own.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not yet been able to host Couchsurfers. I am currently traveling and do not have a permanent residence I can share with Couchsurfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with Couchsurfing hosts in Medellin and Bogota, Colombia, and in Mexico City and Merida, Mexico. I have nothing but great memories, and I feel I've made some wonderful friends along the way. Couchsurfing is perfect for me because I can learn so much more about a country's culture from those who live there. I can find out more from those individuals than I could ever learn from reading a tourist book.

Interests

I enjoy reading, playing games on the computer, surfing the net for information and interesting things. Movies, cooking, dinners out, bars, discos occasionally, swimming, parties, public events, exploring new places. I am particularly interested in learning about other people and cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most all music genres, but particularly enjoy jazz, pop, dance, and techno music. Don't go to many movies.
I read a LOT! I will read most anything available.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkling in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef off of Belize was breathtaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have always loved to travel, and enjoy sharing my experiences with others, and learning from them. Travel opens the door to so many amazing things!
