I was born in Rio de Janeiro but my family moved to Sao Paulo when I was 14, so I feel I grew up in both places, specially because I have more friends in Sao Paulo than in Rio. Relocated to NYC when I was 27, where I lived for 10 years.
At this point, feels hard to tell where I am actually from, since I feel in home on those 3 cities, my heart is well divided in 3 parts.
I went to Law School in Sao Paulo, but have little experience in this area, more personal than professional.
I am not crazy about sports, but I do run 5 times a week for one hour, just to keep healthy and in shape. I am not a professional runner but I feel the importance of daily exercise in my mind and body.
To relax, I love longs walks, my life experience in NYC developed this pleasure in life.
Music is the real love in my life, even thou I can't sing or play any instrument, there is nothing else in the world that touches me the way music does.
I know I can sound very contradicting, but maybe its because I am always trying to find balance, plus it isn't a flaw to the annoying level.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always wanted to see the world, a dream I believe most people have, but like myself, haven't been able to pursuit for economical reasons. The cost of rent and hotel's expenses have turn any great travel opportunity into a very limited opportunity, this is why I feel the approach offered by couchsurfing can become an essential tool to archive this dream in a more comfortable way.

Interests

As mentioned above, I love music, live music and concerts are the real entertainment on my opinion. Movies can easily come in second place, maybe because of an New York habit of spending winters weekends in the theaters.
I also love going to restaurants and lounges, not that crazy about bars and pubs but I can easily relate to, it doesn't bother me at all. Not something I would put above a restaurant or cafe option.
Even thou I'm Brazilian, the country that used to be known by its Football, or soccer, like they say in the States, I only watch the game during worldcup, other than that, I don't even bother to watch any game. I like going to stadium to see a Baseball or Basketball game, but you won't see me glued on tv for that neither.
As mentioned before, I run daily, so it is great when I have someone to run with me, specially if is faster, helps improve my timing.
I used to play tennis when I was a kid, but now I can only play beach tennis and I don't even remember when was the last time I did.
Longs walks it's always nice, I can even do it on high heels, just to get the idea of how much I enjoy this outdoor activity.
I also love animals and nature, can't get enough of Rio natural beauty.
I can enjoy the country despite of have lived all my life in big cities. Since I love nature, I enjoy very much the relaxation and tranquility brought by the healthy life style experienced in the country, not mentioning the real taste of bread and food. There are things we simply can't get in the big city!
When it comes to pets, I can only say one thing, I love dogs more than humans being, what can I say? Let's keep it honest right, so there it goes, I love them with all my heart. They really melt my heart. There is this guy whom runs with his dog, it is so cute, his dog spend the whole circuit looking at his owner while both do their little run. It is breath taking seeing his dog expression while both run. Plus, having a little buddy like that, makes life happier than having anything else.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music, movies and books are hard to tell. It depends of so many things, like what memories it can remind you, or what stage of life you are... I would only say that when it comes to movies, I prefer suspense and drama over romantic comedy or action. When it comes to books, non fiction, for some reason, I can't enjoy fiction readings.
Music, I like most types, even oldies and big band, but just can't stand Axe Music or Rap, not my style.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my skills in organization and in the interior decoration. When it comes to cooking I am not good, but the few things I do, are considered pretty good.
I'm also a good companion, I can be a very home person and develop a long conversation.
I can be girly sometimes, so I like getting dress up to an event or spend time with my females friends to share beauty secrets. I used to have a book with recipes of beauty treatments, like face and hair masks, that can be done with items you have in your kitchen. I was amazed to see how effective it can be.
I am also very handy, I have renovated some apartments, so I can paint walls, renovate old furniture, and even some electrical fixes. Some sales guys at appliance stores used to be impressed on seeing the things I was buying.
I'm extremely clean and organized, so your place will be while you have me around.
