About Me

Cycle through Norway's fjörds!

I am a 25 years old Mexican Engineer. Since a little kid I have been drawn to mountains and adventure and I have been fortunate enough to get to know the world, be it traveling on social service within my beautiful country, on business travel throughout the world with the Company I used to work for, or for leisure, mainly focusing on mountain climbing.
I have decided to take a break from my responsibilities as a young professional and to travel the world and fill my desire to live life on my own terms.
I have a beautiful supporting girlfriend and family back home who, although may not always understand my reasons, have always backed me up whenever I come up with a new idea.
I'm committed with my family, my friends and my partner, and I want to inspire them through my actions and experiences. I also want to become what I dream of, be it in mountain climbing, exercising as an Engineer, a family man (at its moment), etc.

I believe on being happy and doing what YOU KNOW that defines you as one's sole purpose. Anything else should be overseen. Everybody is responsible for his or her decisions in life; that is a privilege that is not always embraced. Learning and growing and experiencing and exploring should be part of living so it can be shared.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think I'll start by searching for a place to stay since I'm about to embark on a trip, but once I return you can count on a place to stay in Mexico City.

I have stayed in many places, none so far with Coach Surfing but happened to be at the right place at the right moment.
During college I got to travel across the rural Mexico and stayed in different places (family homes, churches, schools, etc) while doing community service. This happened in indigenous communities (náhuatl, mixtecos, totonacos, etc) as well as in cities (Poza Rica, Tlamaya, etc).
Also, while mountain climbing, I've been offered places to sleep in France, USA and Canada.
Throughout all these experiences I've got a lot more than I would have expected. During college time I managed to live and understand the reality in which my people (i.e. fellow Mexicans) lives. During mountain climbing trips I have been fortunate enough to share with people who are eager to share with me.

Mountain climbing, rock climbing, mountain biking, road cycling, photography, traveling, engineering, astronomy, history.
Getting to know places and people that will for sure let me learn something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mountain climbing in some great places such as in Perú, France, Italy and Canada, not for what has been done but for what has been experienced. Sharing this with the people I love.
Gone and work together with rural communities in Mexico
Travel around the world while working as an Engineer, making a lot of friends along the way
About to go and bike alone through Norway's fjörds

Teach, Learn, Share

Spanish, Mexican Culture, Engineering stuff (as in Electronics, Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Calculus, also in things as Process Safety Project Management, etc), some things about mountains and mountain climbing. Lots of experiences and plans that are just waiting for the correct moment and situation to blossom.
I'm looking forward to learn as mush as possible from anything.
