About Me

I've traveled throughout my country(India), have lots of memories, lots of experiences. I'm also going on a solo 1 month backpacking trip to Western and Central Europe late this year. I travel for 2 reasons: people and food. I love to stay and visit places not advertised in the tourist maps. A beautiful meadow to roam in, a quiet village to stay in, a good book to read, and a good camera to take photos with, these are my simple wants.

As far as people are concerned, I love mixing with culturally different people, and would like nothing better to listen to their stories, their lives. I'd prefer a chat and a beer with a local in his/her house than the Eiffel Tower any day(no offense). As far as food is concerned, I'm a greedy pig!! If you leave your dish unattended, I WILL consume it, and will have no mercy for anyone. That being said, I love eating, and will try anything if it's well recommended.

The rest I'll let you figure out, IF and WHEN you get to know me. Please do get in touch if you want to.....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So I'm here primarily to be able to meet up with like minded people from whom I can learn so much, to be able to contribute what I can to help other travelers, and to increase my social network with people like me.

Yes staying at someone's house is cheaper than any hostel and yes, I would be lying if I say that is not how I came upon this site. But, it's not my only need. Truth be told, the idea of staying with a local is far more comforting than staying at other places. I can immediately make a new friend, stay in a place that feels like home, to see the daily life of a local, learn the language(these are reasons I travel anyway). I have fortunately been brought up as fiercely independent, so I don't need anyone to make my food, clean up after me, put me to bed if I've passed out drunk(this never happened).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything goes except the recent techno and house music. But I love American country music.

Movies: Oh come on!! There's not enough space here for this.

Books: Same for books. I've forgotten more books than most people have read. I read daily, so Imagine the quantity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving, Bungee jumping, surfing, swimming in the ocean, jumping into frozen lakes, lost in jungles. But if it has to be one, I'd say taking the decision to solo travel to Europe. That made me discover new boundaries.

Teach, Learn, Share

English, writing, public speaking. All these I love and would love to help people with these too.

I've been cooking since I was 11 years old, so I know my pots and pans. If anyone is interested in NON-SPICY Indian food, it's your lucky day.

I've traveled a lot in India so if any info is needed, I'm here.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My culture, my country, tips and tricks on visiting India, an ear(not literally!) to their stories. I've been making my own food, cleaning my own room, and washing my own clothes since 11(awesome parents ). So looking after me is not in the criteria, neither do I feel comfortable about it. I can cook and help with household chores whenever possible(quite useful around computers).

Also, friendship and a good laugh I offer to anyone, who's up for it!!
