ABOUT ME

I went from being a city kid to a country boy, then back to city and now i'm back in the country. Bit of split personality childhood, living in big old dirty London and then Quiet quirky rural West Cork(ROI). Through this i have learnt get the best out of a location, I'm not the type in sit inside all day just because of bad weather. Collecting information in my head drives me, I'm interested in the smallest packets to the largest concepts.

PHILOSOPHY

To be honest, i believe we are the product of monkeys that inhabit i big rock suspended in cold dark space, where we get one life. This may sound depressing to you. But to me it is a beautiful arrangement. I thrive off the fact i'm infinitesimally small relative to the universe and the biggest element of my life. Im not scared that there may be nothing after death, i believe you either make your heaven or hell here on earth now. I'm not apposed to religion, as life is confusing and scary, so whatever gets you through the day is fine with me. I would not say there is no god, as how could comment. I just do not believe myself, i am a man of science and understand that is as much of a belief system as anything else, though it is based on logic and recorded evidence.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My father taught me to cook as soon as i could reach the cooker, so cooking has become of great interest and a form of expression, from feedback from family and friends i'm getting good as well. I was also my fathers carpentry apprentice in the summer and have built up experience working on building site and garden maintenance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the summer of 2010 i had a series of disagreement with my father which led to me finding myself homeless on my birthday, something i would later be grateful for as i spent the next 5 months living out of a backpack. Couch surfing between friends and family in England and Ireland. Over those months i stayed in 25 places. In tents and beds, and on couches and floors. Earning my keep where i could.

Art: I draw in pencil and ink, whether i'm drawing portraits, mimicking famous cartoons or creating trippy tattoo designs. Have designed an album cover and in the process of completing two more for up and coming musicians.

Music: I listen to a large variety of music, from metal and Drum n Bass to chill out and reggae. Drum n Bass has played a big part in my life, at first going to forest raves in Cork, then in London my social group became DJs. Meaning i was frequently in music studios, helping with production and having a laugh. I also enjoyed the many clubs in central London. I now play guitar, well learning.

Science: I studied Physics at college, it may not be what i plan in pursue in my future, but it never fails to interest, surprise and make me question my existence

I enjoy writing, currently trying to write a scifi novel, random projects, personal philosophy's, abit of poetry. I plan to study creative writing in the next few years.

The sea, I have sailed in the past and couldn't get enough of it, whether solo of crewing on a larger vessel. I have fished a lot as i have lived near the coast for eleven years on and off.
